The Brief

Hotel Saint Joseph needed a brand identity that reflected its vision of becoming a leading boutique hotel experience in Port St. Joe.

The goal was to create a brand that felt sophisticated and elevated, while still warm, inviting, and accessible to a wide range of guests. The identity needed to capture the essence of coastal charm, reinforce a sense of quality and trust, and translate seamlessly across both digital and physical guest experiences.

THE DESIGN

At the core of the identity is a refined serif wordmark that evokes tradition and elegance, paired with a detailed shell emblem that acts as a signature brand element. This symbol introduces a sense of place and subtle coastal influence, without leaning into overly literal or themed design.

The identity system extends beyond a single logo. Secondary logos, monograms, and circular emblems provide flexibility across applications from signage and print collateral to digital and branded materials. These variations ensure consistency while allowing the brand to adapt seamlessly across different contexts.

A soft, coastal-inspired color palette reinforces the experience. Muted blues, seafoam greens, warm neutrals, and light coastal tones create a calm, elevated atmosphere that reflects both the environment and the level of service.

Typography plays a key role in the brand’s tone. Elegant serif headings are paired with clean, modern sans-serif body text creating a balance between editorial sophistication and readability.
